Past year’s question paper for the IMO Maths Olympiad Class 7. The International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO) is an annual competition organized in different countries where students can put their problem-solving and creative analytical talents to the test. Complex geometry, functional problems, and pattern analysis are just a few of the topics covered in the IMO tests. The IMO Prior Year Papers for Class 7 are organized by prior year papers and cover questions from IMO exams from 2011 to 2016. The previous year’s Math Olympiad for the Class 7 question exam featured Logical Reasoning, Mathematical Reasoning, and Everyday Mathematics.

IMO Registration Process

Students can register for SOF IMO in one of two ways:

  • They might begin by registering through their schools.
  • Second, people can apply for this exam on their own.
  • Students enrolled at IMO schools can complete the registration process at their respective schools. Each school has at least 10 students registered for the IMO exam. However, many schools are unable to participate in the IMO exam because of the current epidemic. As a result, students can register on their own by completing an online application on the SOF website.

Registration Through School

The following is the procedure for registering for the IMO exam through your school:

  • The IMO Registration Form is available through students’ schools.
  • All SOF registered schools get a prospectus and registration forms. The prospectus can be requested by sending an e-mail to the SOF official website by schools that are not registered with SOF.
  • Applicants can fill out the IMO registration forms with all required information and submit them to their schools.
  • Before the deadline, schools must return the completed registration forms to SOF.

Online Registering:

For IMO exam registration, students must go to the SOF’s official website.

  • Students must fill in all of their fundamental information, such as their school’s name, address, name, class, and section, among other things. Students must give accurate information, such as their roll number, test links, and instructions, which will be sent through SMS/email.
  • The next step is to choose the name of the Olympiad, which is the International Math Olympiad exam.
  • For IMO books, students must pick between online and offline delivery options.
  • To complete the payment, students must first fill out the captcha and then click “Submit.”
  • The IMO registration process is finished once the registration money and book charges have been paid.

Tips to Score 95+ in IMO Examination

People believe that only students with a reasonable mindset can comprehend mathematics. However, this is not the case. Mathematics is a subject that assists pupils in developing rational thinking and a logical attitude. A student cannot be made to love mathematics overnight, but some strategies can help you enhance your math score and even help you get full marks in arithmetic.

  • While it is necessary to read through and comprehend all types of problems, it’s even more crucial to solve them yourself. Knowing theories and concepts is essential, but learning how to apply them is required if you want to achieve full marks in math. You must solve each one independently at least 3-4 times with time.
  • Understand your syllabus: Knowing your portions and the weighting assigned to each section will help you decide how much time to devote to each. For example, if you know that a specific section will only have one 5-mark question, you do not need to spend a week practising those sums.
  • Practice Papers: Using practice papers to psychologically prepare for the tests is a smart idea. The more you solve these, the more confident you will become in your ability to achieve the best possible score. It’s also crucial to realize that you don’t have to wait until your syllabus is finished to begin working on these. As you complete each section, look for the corresponding questions from the sample papers and solve them side by side.
  • Manage your time wisely: Time Management: Being a maths champion is not simple. Even if you have committed a specific day to another topic, you must set aside some time each day to answer math problems to earn 100/100 in math. This might be as little as a half-hour spent going over your formulae and approaches, or as much as a couple of hours spent solving example papers.

Tips to follow during exam

  • Keep your paper and margin clean:

It is best if it is as clean as possible. Keep in mind that the examiner wants to grasp every step of how you arrived at an answer, and he does not have a lot of time to devote to a single problem. To do the rough work, keep your paper free of cutting and overwriting, and create clean margins. A clean sheet of paper likewise shows a clear mind.

  • Start with unfamiliar questions:

Before you begin answering the questions, read the question paper thoroughly. While it is natural to get stuck on questions you do not understand, keep in mind that you must finish the exam within a certain amount of time. To get a perfect score in arithmetic, you must plan to finish the questions you know first, then move on to the questions you don’t know.

  • Graphs and Figures:

If you make figures and graphs with a little thought, you can get good grades. Keep a ruler with a sharp and smooth side and a well-sharpened pencil on hand for this. These are the easiest elements of the exam to complete if you have prepared well, and you should try to do so as soon as you receive your paper.

  • Revise and Review during the exam:

Take a big breath and properly revise your paper once you’ve finished filling it up. Check whether you’ve attempted all the questions in the first revision. This is critical since you may not have answered the questions in the correct order. Check the steps and the rest in the second revision. If there’s still time, go through the sheet again!
